« on: December 20, 2006, 11:03:40 PM »
hi all,
as you may or may not have heard i had to reformat my hd, ya it pissed me off! i have everything back to almost normal except ts. i went out and bought a new mic and headset today and it is not the problem. i can connet to ts, i can hear you all talk, when you talk my mic lites up like a christmas tree but it's just feedback, no voice. i played with all the settings in ts, tried just about everything but calling beckett. does this problem have anything to do with not having the proper codecs installed? what am i missing here people? please help, i am having withdrawls now

xp home, 3 gigs ram, dvd/cd rom, floppy, 110 gig hd, amd 3000+, on board sound, radeon 9600 xt

have you played with the sensitivity/volume of your mic?
first of all, block whispers on ts.
then in windows, go to volume control - > options -> properties -> recording press ok and check the volume of the mic and play with this. Shamu used to have the same problem cause his mic was too sensitive even if he was using headset instead of speakers.

there is also the push to talk option ;)

I've never been clever, because need it never.

I've had this problem a few times. It turned out that in my settings area for mics, I had 2 listed, my creative mic and my webcam one. Turns out that TS had for some odd reason changed it on me.I just had to go in and change it back.

Seems that is where a lot of people have a problem,.....of all the settings in TS, the one everyone has a problem with is their windows volume control(Advanced)setting. I think windows default is mic off. Glad you got it fixed so you can harass Whiteeyes. ;D
