Greeks still use the M1!
« on: April 30, 2007, 09:15:52 AM »
I was editing some photos for a travel agent client..one of them was a high resolution photo of the Greek Presidential Guard when I realised I do know their rifle!
hahahahah MOH has such an impact on meĀ  ;D ;D

some of those rifles look really old in the pics.

and if anyone is interested in the Greek Presidential Guard http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evzones .
They are tall (minimum height 1.88m) and usually quite handsome, ahem ;)

I made my first shot in the army back at 1994 with one of those, cool stuff and i loved the reloading.

I have to say it never crossed my mind that i will use it again in an online fps game in the future.

P.S I'll try to find 1-2 photos from the army with various weapons to post.

Just watch those fingers or thumb, when loading the M1. Not paying attention can be painful. :-[

Nice Skirts ......  ;D

I remember my sister having a little doll of one of those guys when I was young. Always wondered when the skirt came from ....

those are some pretty ladies in those pics.

nice skirts...  ;D

but what the heck are the little balls on the shoes for???

perhaps being forced to wear skirts made them anxious to prove they still have balls so they chose to display them on their shoes???

sorry seven...i just could not resist... :P

My remake of the M-1 Garand.

Some original parts, some new. Manufactured by Springfield Armory.

Surprisingly accurate, much better than I had expected.

I now have remakes of all the guns I used while in the service, M-1 Garand, M-14, and the 30 Cal M-1 Carbine.

My M-14 is a National Match grade, a wee bit better than the one used in the service.

BTW, many service personnel will still use and prefer the M-14 over the current AR's.

Very nice Shamu.

If I ever came over to your place, you'd need to do a good cleaning after I left to get the drool off all you beautiful firearms. :D
