FYI.....Re: FS and dial up.
At the time admitting a dial up applicant required that an exception be requested from Council.
If a majority of the Recruitment Team did not approve it would not be taken to Council for an exception.
I cannot recall if that were required for Seven with her high ping, I do not think it was but am unsure.
I think Taveren was an exception.
Bottom line I think part of the problem at FS became excessive organization. This organization, meaning Constitution, Amendments, By-Laws, Recruiting Team, Etc. were all with good intention but in the long run crippled FS, it simply got to complicated and confusing.
Three things things, IMHO, have altered the face of FS as it was once known.
1. Term of Council, a relatively simple issue by itself, has never been resolved.
2. Council actions and reasoning are kept secret from the membership and member opinions were of little consequence.(And don't tell me the Minutes were informative, I know they were not.)
3 Persons disciplined were not given a fair hearing so they could hear and respond to alleged accusations against them.
The above caused disatisfaction, disatisfaction led to arguments, the inability for members to initiate change led to departures.
A few FS say we chose to leave, not quite true. The truth is there was no alternative, members had no way to initiate change. The best alternative is what you see. The formation of groups like BH, SC and The Buggars are the result of inflexability within FS.
There really was no other constructive choice.
