Snow in the biggest part of Greece the last 24h.
Well we do have mountains and we do have ski centers. It's not often though to have snow in the sea and  inside Athens!

The cold invasion from the north had hit the capital of Greece, which is located in an area usualy very much protected from this kind of phaenomena. We talk for things that happen every 50 years.

Tempatures are under 0C for 2nd day and that makes everything icy.
Today Athens is a paralyzed city! All streets are icy, buses cant work, train, metro, tram, even taxis can't function. The roads are extremenly dangerous for pedestrians and cars. I dont think anyone would go to work today expept from qualified ice skaters

This is too extreme for Athens we are not used as ppl are in Montreal for example.

Ditto - I love snow but am living in the wrong state to receive much of it.

One problem Seven.... there should be more snow - about 18 to 24 inches is perfect.

Northern Illinois hasnt had a very nice winter either. we are getting snow like it was back in the mid 1990s again. City is already out of salt and over budget on plowing. There currently finding it hard to get salt for the roads since everybody seems to be out or has the rest of there salt contracted to other subsiteraires. Welcome to winter.

wow Becket..that video is like a horror movie

Snow is nice! But not in Athens lol!
We are not prepared for it since it happens rarely and doesnt last long.
Now we have a city with more than 5million ppl and thousands of streets that are now icy. Big roads and avenues have been cleaned but its not possible to clear the smaller streets.

I still dunno if I Can go to work tommorow!

I dunno if it has to do with global warming, but we used to have snow storms in Athens area every 15 years and not that strong.
The last 8 years we have a very good strong  storm every 2 years.
Climate changes?
