I don't know their programs and views so I will only talk from the image/impression they give me:

Obama seems like it's full of nice talk and nothing else. He is not inspiring and I don't think he would make a difference, too soft..I dunno there is something wrong with him.

Hillary scares the crap out of me but seems more like a person of action comparing to Obama, plus since her hubby concidered to be a good president I guess he will be a good advisor.
So from two evils I would barely prefer the scary one  ;D

As for McCain he seems an honest man and I have read his brave Vietnam story however some of his views are way too concervative for my taste plus I never vote concervative  8)

In the hard times we live...I see Hilary to be a tough dog and be able to cope with. But I must say none of 3 give me the impression of a potentional great president.  HOWEVER, comparing to BUSH..... you can't have a worst president than Bush jr, can you? I hope not!!! The world needs a wise and strong USA.

(I haven't seen the video you give Shamu, no sound at work I will try to watch it from home.)

The actual current issue is who really has the best chance to defeat McCain in November.

McCain has already won his party’s nomination. No issues here except for who might be his running mate for VP.

The Democrats are another story.

Obama has a significant lead with the Democrats with regard to delegates and the popular vote. Very hard for Hillary to overcome at this time.

Many Democrats are encouraging her to quit because they feel a continuing battle for the nomination does no good for the party.

But it all comes down to who can beat McCain in the Presidential election.

And that, I think, comes down to the race issue. Certainly a hot button issue.

In the Democratic primaries Obama is winning a massive percentage of the black vote ( 90%-10% approximate), Hillary is usually winning the white vote but by very close percentages (525 – 48% approximate). The large black voting bloc has been critical to Obama’s success.

So when one candidate is put forward for the Democrats in November, if Obama is nominated, a big question is if the whites who voted for Hillary in the primaries will vote for Obama or switch over to McCain in the presidential election. Not only are there race issues but gender and age as well. Bottom line Democratic fear is that many of Hillary’s primary supporters will vote for McCain if Obama is nominated.

Many say Hillary would be most likely candidate to keep the Democrats on the Democratic side, meaning even if Obama is not nominated the black vote would stay with Hillary for President. However if Obama is nominated many of those whites who voted for Hillary in the primaries may vote for McCain for President in the elections.

In a potentially close race this could be a critical issue.

If the above scenario is correct I hope Obama is nominated because I want McCain as the lesser of the evils.

I am sorely disappointed in the quality of the candidates running for office of President, given the opportunity I would probably vote to re-elect Bush.

GO OPERATION CHAOS!!!!!!!!!
HA!  I wouldn't vote for either of those two! Actually my vote wasn't for McCain either. As opposite of Seven as anyone could be. I would love to see the most conservative far right person on the ticket. Of course it wouldn't happen, just would not get the votes. I voted Bush both times, and I feel although he has not lived up to my expectations, he was better than Gore or Kerry. I am about as far right as you can get! Oh yea, I don't always agree with Rush either, but he is fun to listen to.

It's Sevens mentality Joe, she thinks the Cooper cannot be a conservatives car.

But Seven, most of all should understand.

Seven has become a Gun Nut, certainly contrary to the Liberal mentality that no Liberal can be a gun nut.

In fact this is her latest love affair:

Why she does not understand your Conservatism I do not know especially considering her own form of Liberalism and attacment to guns. ;D

hahaha!

actually you know what ? I am really not sure I could buy one even if greek laws allowed me to. Or even try one...
The other day I was thinking about it and the thought to have a killing instrument in my hands fully working freaked me out completely.

Plus liking collectable weapons has nothing to do with my peacefull beliefs  :P

so for now, I will encourage you to buy them till your wife learns about "us" and use one of those to kill us both  :bang: ;D

I guess your fear of guns is one of the things I do not understand. The gun is not the problem, it's the person behind the gun.

While guns are used in war to kill that does not mean killing is the reason people buy guns. For me it is simply pride of ownership, target shooting and owning a piece of history.

Secondly, why should an honest persons right to own a gun be restricted? If you are upright, honest, mature and mentally sound why should you not be allowed gun ownership?

Was it wrong for a Greek person to own a spear before firearms were invented? They were used to kill people in their time.

While I am a NRA member I do not object to gun registration and background checks to insure that a responsible individual is buying the gun.

I find more fault with out liberal society that goes too easy on criminals by rehabilitation and early release on probation. I whole heartedly support automatic and lengthly penalties, no parole, for anyone committing a crime while in possesion of a gun.

maybe that's what freaks me out ;)
in any case those guns have been made for war and with only one purpose.

btw I think the greek law is something left from the years of civil war and political unstable period where left wing ppl usually found themselves exiled in deserted islands.
Personally I dunno why this law still exists, I mean hunter guns are allowed and you can very much kill with a hunting shotgun.

so you think McCain has a change?

Some say that gun ownership restriction has a lot to do with the government maintaining control over it's citizens. That it is internally politically based and does not have anything to do with civil crime.

No guns, no revolution. Hard to revolt unarmed.

That concept is the driving force in an amendment to our Constitution' Bill of Rights:

The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights declares a well-regulated militia as "being necessary to the security of a free State" and prohibits infringement of "the right of the people to keep and bear arms."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution

Gun ownership is s very important issue in the U.S. going right back to the foundations of our country. The bleeding heart liberals got their freedoms because of guns and now they want to take the freedom to own guns away because guns scare them. Poor them :mad2:

Scared of a inanimate object ::) It's them that have some kind of mental problem. Get over it it's only a gun made of wood, synthetics and metal.

Anyway Seven since you can't have a gun how about this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Scarce-Greek-M-1903-T-Backed-Mannlicher-Bayonet_W0QQitemZ310048117626QQihZ021QQcategoryZ13975QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You will have an important part of a Greek military gun and perhaps something that was once stuck in an Italian or Turks belly ;D A piece of history.

Oh BTW ............ yes, I do think McCain will win. Understand that does not say I like him. I fear in the next election for many of us we will be electing the lesser of two evils, not a qualified candidate.

I am sorely dissappointed in the candidates running for the office of President.

I think rifles are only forbidden. Dozins of Thousands of Greek have hunting shotgun so many have firearms here, especially in Crete Islands where they are gun nuts.
You know in the battle of Crete, the first day when the Nazi paratroopers invaded almost got slaughtered by the locals. Cretians are gun nuts! They fire their weapon in every given opportunity especially in wedding parties. There are some parts of mountain Crete that the law is the local weed farmers and their kalasnickof (sp?)!

I dunno the history of this law, but after war world II we had a very bloody civil war here that divided people of Greece and led not to quite democratic resumes for 30 years, so I guess forbiding rifles was mainly for the fear of this. I will try and do a little research on the matter.

The Bayonet is cool, but the guy only ships in Usa, so buy it for your future greek rifle :D

So, you think A republican candidate will win even if Bush concidered to be a #@$@#^%@#? That's interesting!
