Just to let you know
« on: September 27, 2006, 04:34:43 PM »
Hi BUG  :)  Just wanted to let you guys know that our website was hacked over the weekend.  They did a good job and totally screwed up everything.  Sooooooooo.... we have to start over from scratch.  Our site will be down for atleast a couple days while Lapman and I get things going again.

I also want to thank Shamu and Seven for your concern about Lapman's accident.  I was going to post about it here so you guys all knew, but I didn't want to spread our troubles around.  :-[  Lapman fell off the neighbors roof on August 21st.  He landed on the concrete sidewalk.  He has a broken left heel and his left hand is messed up.  It's been a rough month and it looks like there is no end to this whole thing for awhile.

Just thought I would let you guys know.  I will keep in touch  ;)

OMG...Lapman cratered..... :(
Unfortunately you can't just unfreeze him.
Here's hoping for a full recovery.

Hey, I thought you had no damage for falls over at BH ;)

Guess the Mod did not work.

BTW, I would hope you neighbor is not bashful about contacting his homeowners insurance and reporting the accident.

And I do not mean suing your neighbor for all he is worth but just fair and reasonable existing Homeowners Insurance that most of us carry.

Had he feel off my roof trying to help me I would encourage him to file a fair and resonable claim.

Anyway be sure to tell him all of us at The Buggars wish him a speedy recovery.

As for your site, you may really want to talk to Seven. As you know we are also with Gameservers but is my understanding that the web stuff we use is supposed to be more secure. I don't know details and Seven would need to provide those bits of info.

PS. Shamu the homeowner does have insurance ... he just barely wants to pay for Lap's medical bills much less anything else.  Needless to say he is being a major jerk.  >:(

Thats BS, thats exactly why you have insurance, for something like this.

If thats the way it is do not deal with him at all, ask for his insurance company and deal directly with them.

Bottom line there is absolutely no need to deal with the homeowner, just get the name of his insurance carrier, which he must give you, and deal with them in a business like fashion.

yeah we did that Shamu... they are being jerks too.  >:( So instead of pulling our hair out from this nightmare we contacted an attorney.  I didn't want to do that, but they left us no choice.  Hopefully it will all work out in the long run.   ::)

Now that you have an attorney involved,...and the insurance company is being a jerk, make sure you get everything you can get.
We had an episode a few years back at a Halloween cornstalk maze where the youngest came out of the maze, turned the wrong direction and smacked her face right into a farm implement parked next to the maze. We rushed her to the hospital because she gashed right above her eye. When we went back to the farm to ask them to pay the hospital bill, they all denied it happened.
Well that just p....d off my wife big time. >:(
Long story short,....instead of them paying the bill, we sued them, settled out of court and the youngest collected over $20,000.oo
You tried to be reasonable,........now screw the insurance company.

If I don't miss my guess and also know how some labor law works facial injuries, even hand injuries carry additional penalties because of potential scarring in a publicly visable body area.

Any injury to the hand or face can get expensive.
