True Bad Luck
« on: February 11, 2007, 03:04:43 AM »
The worst possible has happened on a supposedly great day. My computuer has been displaying a permentant blue screen since last night and the outcome is bleak. I hope for a speedy fix either a new computer or a tech solution from my gifted parents and uncle. I hope that I soon will be able to come back and enjoy the company of the BUG's many great members.

Well it seems like my parents are convince that the good ole dell finally kicked the bucket. Can't get past that horrid blue screen using any type of Safe mode or even last good know settings. Its also starting to look like it wasnt me that killed it either.

My 4 year old sister is the current suspect believe it or not. Witneses report seeing her putting random cds in the drive and slamming them in. So it seems im MIA untill a new setup is gotten.

At least the weekend got better, after the whole "blue screen of death" incident I went to the store and got my brand new Tippmann 98 Pro Custom paintball gun, 500 paintballs and a 9 ounce tank of CO2. Ive spent the whole weekend shooting up excess pizza boxes and trees, and I am already out of Co2 and paintballs.....all this shooting has me itching to get back in and start fraggin all of ya, especially Titan and his noob stick ;D

Careful Woundy does not catch you with that PB gun, he just might light you up a wee bit. He used to be quite a player, at one time, his team was even nationally ranked.

In our day the Automag was the gun of choice.

Thats nothing Shamu, in my day we threw them by hand, we didn't need no stinking gun.  :seni:

Lol Brew .... I use to have a 10 shot paintball Handgun. That teach you to have B... Because without 10 feet, not accurate what so ever. So had to jump, run, use trees and come close enough to the semi auto dudes and try to shoot them in the A.. .... Was a lot of fun and got shoot at a LOT .... Good way to learn how to take cover

That was a long time ago ....

My first gun was a Rapide. Used a Co-2 cartridge and you would stick a 10 ball tube into the receiver.

Used to be plastic tubes and spent C0-2 cartriges all over the fields.

Going over an old Paintball field with a metal detector would drive you nuts with all the CO-2 cartridges lying around.

Over time PB consumed a fair amount of my recreational dollar. Not the cheapest sport in town.

Yes im pretty sure that Woundy would be able to show me a thing or two so I plan on staying away from him, dont need for him to frag me in real life just like he does in the game caues i wouldnt last long....

Yea im quite aware that it is not a cheap sport but I only plan on messing around and having some fun with friends so that should allow me the ablity to stay within my budget.

Im hoping to get a sniper kit and put that on and possibly get a reaction trigger. Im contemplating using compressed air just due to the fact that its alot cheaper.

Aj...fear not the blue screen....It may be as simple as a USB device...that's what happened to me a while back.
I have a Dell(crap)...had it re-worked with more ram, a new video card, and a new OS...
When I plugged it in....Blue Death...
Took it to the Geek Squad..plugged it in..no problems..
Back at home..same Blue Death...
narrowed it down to my USB mouse...
evidently when the chip in the mouse crapped out the Blue Death Screen appeared.
I know of another person who got the same thing except USB speakers were the cause.

Unplug all your USB devices...(scanner,printer, mouse, etc)
and boot your CPU up....if that works...start plugging them back in 1 at a time to see if thats the cause...process of elimination...hope that helps...its worth a shot!

Same problem here. When I build my last PC, one USB was not properly set up. Also forgot to install proper driver for built in sound card. After those two thing fixed, pretty much perfect.

Blue screen drove me crazy for a while ...

Also i had one software not compatible with my ATI video card (crap) and crash my pc everytime. So until I get my next Gforce, cannot run that software.... ATI sucks !!!

Wow never thought this could be possible but my computer is somehow back from the dead. My uncle came over for a party today and spent maybe 2,3 hours messing with it and got it back working.... Im totally amazed right now. It had something to do with the fact that we only had 5% of memory left so its time to clean house.
I plan on pulling all but 2 games, leaving the MOH series on and Madden 07. If im lucky and all in the family gets done cleaning tommorow I should be back on by monday. So see all of ya soon, peace out!
