Son's First Turkey
« on: April 27, 2007, 01:15:46 PM »
Last Saturday was the first day of Turkey Season in PA.  First Day is for youth/childern.  My son got himself a nice bird and was very happy and proud of it.

Those were good times when I used to go to Pa.turkey hunting with my Dad. Didn't shoot anything, but being in the woods and out with Dad...good times. I'd bet DE looked like the spring gobbler showing off his son with his spring bird.

I still have my first shotgun my Dad got me when I turned 12 living in Pa. A Mossberg 12ga. he got at the Firestone Hardware store in Ridgeway just for that purpose...bagging turkeys.

I'm gettin all misty eyed now... I'm gonna go call my dad...

Well now for the rest of the story. Since I was working, I did not go with my son... :(.  My X-Wife (Son's Mother) did... :o

Oh and yes, she called it in for him, and tapped his shoulder to let him know to take the shot.

Two good things about the X-Wife:

1.) Gave me two great sons.
2.) A Great Outdoorswoman.
