Topic: Knighthood for Salman Rushdie?

Not saying he does not deserve the honors, I do not really know, but is this really politically wise on Britains behalf?

I believe he still carries a death sentence on his head for the book "The Satanic Verses"

His death sentence is not as much of a concern to me as to what Knighthood could impart for Britain and the British people.

I prefer to think logically and bestowing honors, deserved or not, on a person that might incite others to tragically cause harm to many innocent persons is not logical.

From what I have seen of the Muslim mindset this act by Britain could be violently rejected.

I don't think this will make any difference.... The so called 'minority groups' in this country have more rights than the majority.

the uk has become a joke and it's no wonder they cll it 'Treasure Island'

I buggering off to Oz, France or somewhere else with similar views on the whole situation.

The Aussies stop boats with battleships on the coast. We give them free healthcare, money and a home, jumping ahead of thousands on the list.

Most of this crap is about religion and I don't believe in any so what chance do i have...

In reading the above article I also see people have already been killed or suffered misfortune as a result of the publication.

I would suspect awarding Knighthood would only rekindle the elements of hate, justified or not.
