Okay, any reasons NOT to go with the Red Barn Computer choice?

I like the Asus platform, I like XP, I liked what personal phone contact I have had with them, I like the fact that, if necessary, I can go to their store. ( A bit of a trip but can be done)

And my company will contribute to defray the cost. :)

Well, I have it, the customized Asus C90, assembly by Red Barn Computers.

MOH is installed but lost some time dialing in my Nostromo N-52......brain fart kind of stuff.

Loaded up and RPS was running 400-500 FPS :o

I have dialed back the FPS in the unammedsoldier file to MAX 100. My understanding is that anything over 60-70 is wasted and limited by the monitor and human eye.

Following link is a little more info on the  Asus C90. basically a barebones laptop platform for the customer or store to customize to their wishes.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=115287

Repeated below is my configuration and some other parts of the purchase:

  1  Custom-Red Barn C90S Conroe Mobile Barn 1NB-RBC-C90S

2  RBC/Asus C90S Conroe Performance NB 1NB-RBC/C90S

3  Intel P4 Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz 4MB 1735858184625

4  Mushkin 1Gb Perf. DDR-2 SODIMM 667 1991504

5  Mushkin 1Gb Perf. DDR-2 SODIMM 667 1991504

6  C90S nVidia 8600 512Mb Graphics 1MXM-II-8600

7  Seagate 100Gb 2.5in SATA 7200 1HD100LAP7SEAS

8  Intel 3945ABG Mini PC Wireless Adapter 13945ABG

9  MS Windows XP Home 1X08-48123

10  MS Office 2007 Small Biz Edition 1OEMOFF2K7SBE

11  RBC Academic Higher Ed. Warranty 4 Year 1NB-WAR-ACADx2YR

My company contributed 1,000.00 and had asked me to get the MS Office 2007 Small Biz edition to replace the old Office XP I have been using. Seems everything I do gets upgraded when they work on the same file.

Some adjustment going from a 17" screen back to 15.
