Personal Peeve

3rd Class Mail

I can't stand it.

It's just BS clutter that I either have to dispose of as a recycle or trash.

At my Pocono house I have a small box at a community mail location. If I do not get there at least once every 2 weeks the box is so crammed full with 3rd Class mail that the mail person can put no more mail in and I have to go to the post office to retrieve it. That's about a 5 mile trip to retrieve mostly more junk mail.

I even tried to see if there was an option to block 3rd Class Mail, of course there is not. Provides too many jobs for the post office I would suppose.

Think of the savings if third class mail could be blocked. Postal staff could be cut considerably. Less trash. Better for the environment because of reduced paper use.

I for one could certainy do without all the junk mail I currently receive.

I agree, but on a side note....all those credit card companies that send blank checks to use against your account......I actually received one a few years back that offered 0.99% for life of transfer. I had to read it several times to make sure it was accurate then bought myself a used 1997 Eclipse. Basically a used car loan at 0.99%

Nice to see the value of the percentage point appreciated.

The vehicle I now drive is at 0% financing for 5 yrs. 0% financing is free money. So I financed as much as I could and basically took on the highest monthly payment I could handle for the 5 years.

No sense in putting more down for a lower monthly payment when the financing was free.

Why not have all mail held at post office unless at cabin or have all mail forwarded to your home address.

Post office is inconvenient.......some gun rags I want delivered to the Poconos.

I just wish third class could be refused. Would be a lot of monetary and ecological savings if junk mail could be reduced.

The postal service needs something like the "Do Not Call" list for phone numbers.

Like I was saying last night on TS, this isn't a for sure way but I know as it is part of the business that I am in that most "Mail Houses" run this to lower the costs of sending stuff to people who don't want the extra junk mail.

At my work we run this all the time so I am sure it does help a bit.

If everyone.... evvvveryone.... returned the junk mail to it's original sender.... maybe they too would get tired of getting it.

We got some spam mail from the builder of this townhouse we're in.... I wanted to send their ad back to them with some pictures of the quality of workmanship... crooked wall joints, the holes I put in the drywall to repair leaky plumbing, etc.... Yes, I took pictures of the problems we had....might come in handy some day.... the townhouse is just coming up on being 5 yrs old... and the problems.... we were lucky they didn't surface earlier. Some of this should have never passed the finals for occupancy.

These companies should spend more hiring quality help and less on trying to sell their product...

I'll check it out.

Another annoying thing is all the stuffers you get in magazines. All they do is fall out all over the place.

So.....for awhile I took my revenge. I would save a bunch of them and then at some time mail them back........blank. They are all postage paid so I hope it cost them something for nothing.

Speaking of revenge,... could you get in trouble if you took your junk mail , ones that say Resident or Occupant ( nothing with your name) and put it back in their mail boxes? Bet they would hate getting all that junk to sort through. ;D
The post office I mean.
And those mail back cards.....put a phony name on it and for your address put their address on it and see how many times they mail junk to theirselves.

My mistake....geez......even junk mail to occupant or resident actually has your address on it.
I thought some of that stuff the post office just put in everyone's mail box. So unless you tear it off, it would be tracable to you.  >:(

Franchi Shotguns >:(

Franchi is a subdivision of Benelli, a well known maker of firearms.

I bought a Franchi Renaissance Elite, 12 Ga, O/U back in May

http://www.franchiusa.com/firearms/renaissance.tpl

When I got it home I noticed flaws in the bluing that I could not see in the light at the store. I took it back and was told to call Franchi which I did.

First the barrel went back, then the receiver went back, now the box and accessories are scheduled to go back and the whole gun is going to be replaced.

Bought in early May and yet to fire a shot. Not what I would expect from a gun that costs a fair amount of money :(

Who knows when I will see the new gun.

Did I mention I am being comped $50.00 in merchadise from their web site? Whopee!!!.........Not  ::)
