NEVER let this one die.  So that all that "weren't allowed" into the FS for whatever reason, and the others that once got in, as Maddog so eliquently put it, "saw the light"; and for the ones that don't know about FS, once they join any of the other, for a lack of better terms, and someone PLEASE correct it (OM) "baby FS?" know where the roots of these clans come from.

That's just my 2 cents on it.

Hey Guns dont get me wrong on how I said that.

It just seems that some people can never let it go.

Some think they know more than others and some dont.

If someone doesnt like the clan then thats their choice.

Look at this group of people here,  their doing great.

Not you Mad, I'll be honest, all me.  I won't go into details, but you know, all I'm saying, is that everyone that comes into this group, needs to know where it started from, and THAT was from DE, that "FS" is NOT what it was if you know what I mean, I tried to tell them, when I didnt' get in a couple of times, and it's really no hard feelings, I just saw what was happening and said it to a couple of members. But, what my post here was this is the real deal as far as I'm concerced.  I love you guys and gals, I'll be over.

MADDOG

we are FS traumatized Maddog!  ;D
I am very glad on how things are going with the Buggars since what FS ended up to be simply wasnt fun to me anymore.

However I must tell you that sometimes when I see or think of the FS I still think "what a pitty..."
what a pitty cause we could still be a strong and healthy and full with fun clan.

Cause it took a lot for effort and love from many ppl to make the FS big and it did hurt to see it go down like that (imho of course).

oh well I didnt regret being a part of the FS even if it wasnt fun for the last year. I met some great ppl over there and I still hang around with some of them over here.
Thanks FS, thanks DE :)

all I can say, is [as I raise my drink] "Thanks DE for starting FS and at the very least, getting us to all know eachother, and sorry that it evidently didn't turn out the way you had envisioned".

ok I am gonna say it,cause you know what kind of troublemaker I am  :punk:

all this ppl left the FS, are gathering in friendly clans/gangs: Sc and bugs even the BH and that makes me thinking ....:

what if *instead* we had all stayed back and kicked off the ones who are now FS and were definatelty the minority back then?

I know what's done is done but  kinda saddens me we never fought all together and let them hijacking FS from the rest of us..doh   :(

Think about it, we have 3 prosperous gaming families, the BH, the SC and the Bugs all came from the FS.
Anyway, I hope what happened to the FS has been a usefull lesson to all of us, it certainly was a lesson for me.

The good thing is that we have all kept contact and we should keep it this way!

Seven it's an easy answer. The membership could not initiate change so by staying you still could have done nothing.

Council term was, to this day, unresolved. So it's life until the issue is resolved.

Council meetings were closed to the members.

Suggestions were hidden from the membership unless Council approved presenting them.

Gamereps were a token position.

By Laws written because they did not require a member vote, they were a dictate from Council.

Bottom line, the membership had absolutely no leverage to bring about change. All you could do was fight and squabble in the Forums creating an unpleasant situation.

How can you make a change without leverage? The only thing available was to withold funds, thats all you could do.

Darn you Seven....don't get me started.

I was kinda hopeful this topic would just die.  But since it has not I guess it is my turn to stand up on the "soap box" and say a few words.

First off I am sorry to Seven.  She hit the nail on the head several times while an [FS] member, in things that she brought to the attention of others.  Many ingored her or attacked her for her words and advise.  I see now that many things she did say made perfect sense.  As you can see, she is very capable of getting a server running, website, etc.  She has my respect and thanks for offering myself and others a great place to hang out and play.

As for the [FS] a very mixed bag for me, after-all I started it, and even ran it for awhile. There are only 3 or 4 [FS] members left that I would even associate with.  The Free Soldiers is nothing it once was.  It never will be.  The best thing about the [FS] is all the great people I have met, and now all the great places I can play that were founded by former [FS] members.

I am glad to see that former [FS] members have banded together and founded places to play, similar to [FS] standards of old. I am very proud of all of these [FS] "offspring".

One other note, I have not mentioned about my quick "out of the blue" resigning from the [FS].  When the mass exodus of [FS] members started, I as the founder was powerless to do anything.  Knowing the website is owned by one member, and the servers by yet another member legally, I took the only action I could at the time.  Going through a Web Domain Purchasing Agent, I offered a very large, large sum of money for the freesoldiers.net domain.  It was rejected, so I resigned and played around with my Freelance Soldiers website.  That was just done to see if I still "had it", in creating a php site, forums, etc.  After completing it, I closed it down. I still "have it".... ;D

I am very proud of founding the [FS].  I am no longer proud of what it stands for and how it operates.  But then again that is no longer my problem.....besides MOH Airborne is on the horizon, and the one dimensional [FS] COD Clan with its new "kid" members and regulars has its own problems to deal with....kids can not pay the bills... ;)

See you on the Battle Field!!!

Instead of typing a reply I am posting a PM I had sent to Maddog. Pretty much expresses my feelings.

Dog I full well realize that I am part of the problem at FS becuase I remain a annoying thorn in their side. It's intentional and i accept the consequences, even if they ban me from the forum.

My posts are not kind and I do take jabs at FS, but perhaps I am bitter and don't want to let go of something that was once very special to me.

Somehow the roots of FS have died and intent of FS has been forgotten. It bothers me to see that happen.

No offense to either COD or MOH players, but I think when FS expanded from MOH only it opened the door for problems. Unfortunate, but I believe true. There was a divide between the MOH players and the COD players. That divide did not help with the cohesiveness of FS.

The Fins once suggested separating COD and MOH and let each group control their side of the games. I ridiculed the idea but in hindsight perhaps it required more consideration than I gave it.

Recruiting became too focused on Challenges instead of the self motivation of the individual applying for membership. Never did like Challenges, still do not. I base my evaluations on how self motivated the potential member was to meet and greet existing FS.

Heck, we had some damn good members without all that Challenge stuff in the old days.

I wish I could say I don't care about FS but unfortunately I do and it hurts to see what it has become.

When I reference the roots and intent of FS I do think DE and other old Heads will understand.
